Matt had been following Stryda for a few years before finally deciding to place an order.  Located on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, Matt’s typical launch routine involves driving for about half a kilometre on the road, then entering a stream that leads to a beach with soft white sand before heading into the water.

Matt and his family have spent many summer holidays at this property over the years. However, now that the kids are older and living in different parts of the country and abroad, sometimes there is no one around to help launch and retrieve the boat. As boating became more challenging, Matt decided it was time to invest in an amphibious boat.

During the training day, as the family saw the boat in action, Matt’s wife was thrilled. She said the best part of having an amphibious boat was not having to deal with the trailer when Matt launches the boat. No more cold feet, and they can head out on the water without being restricted by tides!  Another bonus is that when the kids are back, they can spend more time on the water, instead of worrying about launching and retrieving the boat.

This is the first Stryda 600C with the redesigned cabin, powered by a Honda BF250HP outboard. It comes with a Simrad NSS 12 EVO 3 package and a Simrad 3-in-1 Active Imaging transducer. The entire boat is finished in white paint, giving it a clean and elegant look. The boat is named Waitā, the sixth star in the Matariki cluster, representing the ocean, good fortune, and the connection between people and the sea. It perfectly ties together the concept of an amphibious boat, which seamlessly connects land and sea with ease.
